Mars Weather

Ever wonder what about Mars Weather? Now you can find out with this simple app for the Apple TV. The latest climate data from the Curiosity Rover is displayed alongside beautiful images taken both by the rover and from orbit. You can skip through images or just let the app autoplay.

This app was built by Smith & Sons with design assistance from Adam Hosp. Its icons are used with permission from NASA/JPL-Caltech/MSSS and the top shelf graphic is courtesy of NASA/JPL-Caltech/Univ. of Arizona.

Weather data is from Mars Atmospheric Aggregation System (MAAS), which is descrbed by its creators as “an API built to further the development of applications that want to leverage the REMS weather data being transmitted by the Curiosity Rover on Mars.” More information on the service is available at http://marsweather.ingenology.com.

This software is not endorsed by Ingenology, REMS, Caltech, JPL, MSS, University of Arizona or NASA.

All of the information contained in the app should be used for entertainment purposes only. Do not rely on the app’s data when planning a trip to Mars.
